Giving Back May 2020

With the considerable growth in membership in the past few years. We now have the ability, and desire to give back to the community.

  • Over the last few years we have offered college scholarships to high school graduates who are seeking a careers in environmental or outdoor studies. This year we had 6 excellent applicants, each will receive $1000.00!

  • We also provide scholarships for youth that would like to attend summer camps that are owned and operated by the Michigan United Conservation Club. Last year we sent 11 kids.

  • We recently donated $5000.00 to the Village of Fruitport for renovations to the boat launch and playground at Pamona Park.

  • We recently donated $1500.00 to the Village of Fruitport to replace the large flag located at the I96/US31 interchange, and at the township office.

  • We are affiliated with, and financially support, the Michigan Untied Conservation Club, for its ongoing efforts in conservation statewide.

  • We sponsor 2 area charter boats each year for a local salmon derby for military veterans.

  • We provide funding to the Muskegon County Fair Association to sponsor the youth shooting sports competition and awards for those events. Shooting events are at FCC. Muskegon 4H club also shoots for free at the club.

  • Last year we donated Michigan white pines saplings to all Fruitport elementary schools for planting on Earth Day.

  • We sponsor the Fruitport High School bass fishing team with nice windbreakers for there competition fishing events, they won many events last year.

  • We were a corporate sponsor for the Michigan Special Olympics Polar Plunge. FCC, and the FCC plunge team raised $5600 for the event.

  • We put on an annual fundraising banquet.
